This is a three-part publication recording the wide arc of Kher's practice. The first volume introduces her vast œuvre spanning sculpture, painting and installation work via a series of essays by leading interdisciplinary commentators. The second volume reproduces her sketchbooks, diaries and writing along with a full length interview. The third and concluding volume focuses exclusively on the medium that is uniquely associated with Kher - the bindi. Featuring a selection of bindi paintings made over twenty-five years, in an order that is neither chronological nor thematic, the book deploys its own distinct editorial rhythm in order to reorient the ways in which viewers may read these spectacular and complex works.
