On the occasion of the reissue of the book "Soulages, d’une rive à l’autre” (Actes Sud, 2023),
Matthieu Séguéla will sign his book co-written with Michaël de St-Chéron. He will also sign the book “Poèmes” by Itsuji Yoshikawa, of which he wrote the afterword (numbered, limited edition and with the cover of an unpublished walnut husk paint work by Pierre Soulages from 1948).

"Soulages, d’une rive à l’autre” by Michaël de St-Chéron and Matthieu Séguéla (Actes Sud, 2023)
This book is inhabited by the encounters of and with Soulages. The artist's encounters forever marked his vision of art: first with archaeology and cave art, then with Conques (France) and Romanesque art, and finally with abstraction during the Second World War. His major encounters in the 1950s and 1960s, with Picabia, Hartung, Atlan, Senghor, then around Conques with Georges Duby and Jacques Le Goff, are also key moments in his work, as is his encounter with Japan.Michaël de Saint-Cheron and Matthieu Séguéla trace a golden triangle between Soulages' art, Africa and the land of the rising sun. ____________________
